instant snack

I was looking for some fresh snacks and didnt want to spend too much time and I got this idea.. If you have some namkeen lying with you , just dry grind it in the mixer and your filling is ready.Or you can take any daal mix from Haldiraam and grind it. Then knead some maida with some oil and water. make it a hard dough, now you can make small samosas and .Bhakar badi.........both for samosa take a small ball of dough, roll it in an oblong shape, cut into half and make a little samosa and deep fry on medium heat. For..Bhakhar badi....take a medium size ball and roll it like a chapati, then spread the filling with a spoon and press it a little so that it sticks. Then roll the chapati int o a roll and then cut into small pieces and then deep fry on medium heat. You can eat it fresh and keep it also for long period

PESHAWRI..ITC GRAND chola

This is the new hotel in Velachery Chennai..They have many restaurants and Peshawri is one of them..here one can order the food a la cart only. Hotel has grand area in reception and its quite huge, then we go to the restaurant..quite opulently decorated...in Afghan's style...Here for vegetarians there are green aprons and non vegetarians red ones..the apron are there in place of napkins. Service is OK, not much to talk about. Mocktails are all good..papad and chatney is served on house..mocktails are around 375/ E Then we ordered main course, he suggested us one......and when ordered it was like starter ..like kababs .we ordered paneer khurchan and daal makhani..it was yummy.to the core. Then their Naan bukhara is so big that it can be shared by 4-5 persons..All the side dishes are in the range of 975-1050 and breads around 195. though naan bukhara is for 1050/.. They have quite limited menu and though service is good, its not value for money at all. ITC GRAND CHOLA 63

La Shakahari

This restaurant is there in residential area of Nungambakkam..Pyrocroft garden road..It had special appeal for me as its a pure vegetarian restaurant and with global cuisine. When we entered we were surprised to see that it wasnt very crowded, normally on sundays all of them are.But we were happy because I dont like crowded noisy places. That way here seating and ambiance is fine..one can eat in piece. Now i looked at the menu..they have Mexican, Mediterranean, oriental and Indian, but for that they have made journeys..like whole Mediterranean or Mexican  package for one person is 475/ per person and one cant share it..Like I cant eat that much on my own, so either they should limit the quantity  and then let the guest share..that way we can try many things..Because of their mismanaged menu I couldnt try anything like that, we went for a la carte... We asked for tomato soup and then we came to know that they are having a scheme where some dishes are being given complimentary one

BASERA

Basera is located on ECR with a very good ambiance. For buffet one can sit inside, otherwise outside there are tables under trees. If in a group of 20, tree top arrangements are there. We went for lunch and found the surrounding very very good, with water falling at one place... Now about food, since i am a vegetarian, I can tell you about vegetarian only..There are three types of soup to order in the range of 90/..E In starters there is Paneer Tikka, Hare bhare kabab, in Chinese section..spring roll and all. We tried hare bhare kabab, they were good and healthy too as they were baked not fried.Every dish is around 190/.. In the main dishes there were lot of varieties we tried Malai kofta and Kadhai paneer, both were very well prepared and portions were also good. All special side dishes are in the range of 220..230,daals are around 160..190. And naans..they were the best, In Chennai I havent seen better than them, we tried pudina paratha, butter naan and stuffed kulcha and ever
