Last week on our anniversary we went to Taj club house for buffet Lunch, as we had already seen Fisherman's cove and Connemara..I decided to check this one.
Here the ambiance is good like a five star and they have lots of variety too..
In the non alcoholic section they have two types of mocktails.I liked the strawberry flavoured.
For starters, it was usual chaat, 2-3 fried items, and assortment of breads.the last one was really good, chaat..I dont think any good hotel serves the real taste:(
Then they had all sort of pastas, pizzas and noodles, variety of rice and Indian breads, and yes salads.Rice was very good ..all varieties, dont know why they kept biryaani and daal on a separate counter and we came to know only when we were full, whereas both these items were very yummy..otherwise there was very little variety in vegetables and whatever was there wasnt good even.
Dosa was also there.
In desserts, they had gulabjamun, chamcham, and carrot halwa, and then there were tarts, cakes, mousse, ice cream etc etc.
I dont know why most of the good hotels look after western taste more than Indian palate, even on the table we had olive oil and vinegar, instead of chatneys.
and in then I missed any paan, saunf, supari..anything like that.
All in all I wouldnt say that food is good, its only for the ambiance if you want to pay, then fine.
All this for a price of 1100 plus taxes..per person.

This is a very healthy breakfast for me and I like it also, almost no oil is used and it has lots of vegetables. and not much cooking even.
1cup broken wheat
250 gm cabbage..julienned
1small capsicum..julienned
1 carrot grated
1 tsp. oil 1tsp. mustard seeds.
1/2 tsp. turmeric
1/2 tsp salt or as you like it
1/2 lemon
2 tbsp. roasted peanuts.
Green chilli(optional)
coriander leaves..finely chopped for garnishing.
Dry roast the broken wheat, till it is golden.
In a pan put oil, and when it is hot add mustard seeds.
When they start spluttering add all the vegetables.
saute them for 5-8 minutes, till they get shiny or loose water.
Keep them aside.
Now cook the broken wheat with 2 cup water, turmeric and salt, slow the fire and cook till all the water is absorbed.
Mix the vegetables in this.
Now while serving spread some peanuts and then sprinkle lemon. TIPS:.....even you can roast the wheat in microwave also, you will have to stir it once or twice. Some people add tomatoes also, but I dontbecau…

This was the staple diet in winters in my childhood. Actually we started making this only from GangaDusshehra and stopped it from Shivraatri. My mind found this logic in this ritual..its considered heat, so once the winter is gone..its not good to eat ..may be.
Ingredients: 1cup Uradcchilka (black urad) 1 and half cup rice. 4 cup water. 1tsp. turmeric 1+1/2 tsp. salt or to taste. green chutney, curd papad Radish..cut into long pieces and sprinkle salt and lemon juice on them. Desi ghee Put daal, rice, water, turmeric and salt together in a cooker and put it on the gas. After one whistle slow the the fire. keep it for 3 minutes and switch off. let it cool for 5 minutes. Now open it , and serve it hot with dollops of ghee and accompaniments. I love it with radish and curd. My dad always used to like it after a little shallow frying...for this take a fry pan, put some ghee and add khichdi, and shallow fry it, till its a little crisp. Its like Indian fast food...cooks in a jiffy and healthy to…

Roast And Grill..Green Park vada palani

I bought the groupon coupon for this and found that this was my best deal. The restaurant is on the roof top with a pool..and ambiance is very good....infact I loved sitting poolside..looking over the lighted Forum Mall...much better than sitting inside.

Then the service was excellent, they were polite and very attentive to our needs, before we finished even one started, another came on the table. In the mocktails we ordered kiwi cooler and it was perfect. Then in the starters they had corn cob, paneer tikka, onion capsicam with herbs , potato with cream, soya patties etc, all grilled or roasted. He asked us whether we wanted any repeat of the starters, but it wasnt possible for us, we were much that we picked a little from the main food. There we had 4.5 vegetables and daal, veg, pulao, curd rice, and naan..baiagan ka  salan, shahi paneer and daal were just yummy..Only thing I miss in chennai is that rarely they have dahi bhalla in menu..but here they compensated with starters.I…
